As of April 27, USCIS is doing additional vetting for a variety of benefits applications (primarily affecting Forms I-485 for Adjustment of Status and Forms I-589 for Asylum) that is requiring adjudication holds. These holds are for the purpose of resubmitting biometrics for almost all pending cases, apart from naturalization applicants already scheduled for an oath ceremony. It is unclear whether the resubmission of biometrics will require applicants to reappear for biometrics appointments or if USCIS will be doing the resubmission internally. It is also unclear how much of a delay this will cause.
